Job summary

Avensys Consulting seeks an experienced Linux Administrator to manage Linux/Unix servers across production and non-production environments. The role requires hands-on expertise with RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu and related distributions, plus strong scripting, security hardening, and DR capabilities.

The candidate will handle server installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting, manage users and services, monitor health, and coordinate with application, database, and network

Qualifications

8+ years of Linux administration experience.
Hands-on with RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu and other Linux distributions.
Server installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Manage user accounts, file systems, LVM, NFS, SSH, and services.
Monitor performance, capacity, availability, and health.
Shell scripting for automation.
Backup, recovery, DR, and high-availability activities.
Security hardening and OS patch management.
DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls and networking for infra troubleshooting.
Incident, problem, and change management in production environments.
Coordinate with app, database and network teams; maintain docs.

Responsibilities

Manage and administer Linux/Unix servers across production and non-production environments.
Strong hands-on experience with RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu and other Linux distributions.
Perform server installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Manage user accounts, permissions, file systems, LVM, NFS, SSH, and system services.
Monitor server performance, capacity, availability, and system health.
Troubleshoot CPU, memory, disk, network, and application-related issues.
Experience with shell scripting for automation.
Manage backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high-availability activities.
Perform security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and OS patch management.
Work with DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, and networking for infrastructure troubleshooting.
Handle incident, problem, and change management in production environments.
Maintain technical documentation and coordinate with application, database, and network teams.
