Job summary
Jobgether is seeking a senior Linux Platform Engineer to own enterprise Linux platforms across on‑prem and cloud. You will drive strategy, automation, and lifecycle management, partnering with security, storage, and network teams to deliver scalable, reliable platforms.
You will mentor engineers, lead complex initiatives, and raise platform maturity while embodying DevOps practices and incident leadership.
Qualifications
- 7–10+ years engineering and operating Linux platforms in enterprise environments.
- Deep expertise with SUSE Linux, RHEL, or equivalent.
- Proficient in Bash/Python; Perl is a plus.
- Automation and IaC using Ansible, Terraform, Puppet or comparable tooling.
- Strong virtualization experience with VMware vSphere.
- Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, VPN.
- Experience with backup/recovery and storage integration.
- Security hardening, patching, and compliance awareness.
- RHCE/LPIC-3 desirable; cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) advantangeous.
Responsibilities
- Own the enterprise Linux platform roadmap and lifecycle management.
- Define engineering standards and build patterns for Linux platforms.
- Design scalable Linux solutions across on‑prem and cloud.
- Lead IaC adoption and automation across teams.
- Own platform availability, performance, and capacity with SLAs.
- Lead incident response, root-cause analysis and permanent fixes.
- Embed security-by-design and collaborate with security teams.
- Govern monitoring and observability via Datadog, Dynatrace, etc.
- Collaborate with storage, network, and application teams on solutions.
- Mentor engineers and drive platform engineering maturity.
