Job summary

Foreground in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, seeks an experienced Legal Manager to lead the Legal & Compliance Department in a fast-paced energy services environment. The role requires strategic judgment, commercial acumen, and autonomous execution across contracts, compliance, and governance.

The ideal candidate has a law degree with 10+ years of experience, including 3 years in management, and strong knowledge of Saudi labor and commercial regulations with exposure to oilfield sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Law from a recognized university (Common Law education preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of legal experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
• Proven exposure to oil, gas, offshore drilling, or maritime industries.
• Experience in both corporate environments and law firms; consultancy or Big Four experience is a strong plus.
• Deep understanding of Saudi labor law, commercial regulations, and compliance frameworks.
• Bilingual proficiency (Arabic and English) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all legal activities, mentoring and supervising the work of subordinate lawyers and legal staff.
• Negotiate, draft, review, and execute contracts including procurement, drilling, oilfield services, rig build, and shipyard agreements.
• Design, implement, and monitor systems to ensure compliance with Saudi laws and international regulations applicable to oilfield and drilling sectors.
• Manage litigation, claims, and disputes; retain and supervise external counsel; report updates to Head of Legal & Compliance.
• Advise on labor law issues, commercial transactions, and corporate structuring; support new ventures and licensing activities.
