Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced Irrigation Engineer to design, review, and coordinate irrigation systems for landscape projects in the GCC. You will prepare shop drawings, perform hydraulic calculations, and ensure compliance with project standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field.
• 5+ years of irrigation engineering experience in landscaping or infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, hydraulic calculations, pumps, valves, and controllers.
• Experience in GCC landscaping or irrigation projects preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and irrigation software.
• Good coordination and technical reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review irrigation shop drawings, layouts, and detailed designs for landscaping projects.
• Develop irrigation calculations including water demand, pipe sizing, pressure loss, pump requirements, and hydraulic analysis.
• Coordinate with landscape architects, civil engineers, MEP teams, and project management for proper integration of irrigation systems.
• Prepare technical submittals, material approvals, method statements, and related documentation.
• Review project specifications, BOQs, and contract documents to ensure compliance during design and execution stages.
• Support procurement with technical evaluations and material selection for irrigation systems.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and assist in cost estimation for irrigation works.
• Ensure compliance with local authority requirements, sustainability standards, and water conservation practices.
• Provide technical support to site teams during installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
• Review and respond to RFIs, technical queries, and consultant comments.
• Assist in value engineering initiatives to optimize system performance and project cost.
• Maintain proper documentation and records for all irrigation-related submissions and approvals.

Job description

The Irrigation Engineer will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating irrigation designs, technical submittals, material specifications, and shop drawings for landscaping projects. Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Landscape Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum [5+] years of experience in irrigation engineering within landscaping or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, hydraulic calculations, pumps, valves, controllers, and related materials.
• Experience in landscaping and irrigation projects within GCC region is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and irrigation design software.
• Good understanding of international standards and water-efficient irrigation practices.
• Strong coordination, communication, and technical reporting skills.
• Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of smart irrigation systems and automated controllers.
• Familiarity with local authority regulations and approval processes.
• Experience in preparing as-built drawings and technical reports.
• PMP or relevant professional certifications are considered an advantage.
