Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of pumping systems, hydraulics, valves, piping and commissioning.
• Proficient CAD, hydraulics tools, and MS Office; fluent in Arabic and English.

Responsibilities

Senior Mechanical Engineer (Irrigation & Pumping)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (Irrigation & Pumping) to join our team. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design review, planning, supervision, and execution of irrigation systems, pumping stations, and related mechanical infrastructure, ensuring adherence to engineering standards, safety protocols, and project timelines. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in pumping systems, irrigation networks, hydraulic calculations, equipment installation, testing and commissioning, and infrastructure development.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical review and supervision of irrigation systems, pumping stations, mechanical infrastructure, equipment installation, and related piping works.

Review mechanical drawings, pump calculations, equipment datasheets, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, testing documents, and commissioning procedures.

Assess pump selection, hydraulic performance, valve arrangements, pressure requirements, piping layouts, equipment foundations, and control system interfaces.

Coordinate mechanical works with civil, electrical, instrumentation, landscape, utilities, and control system disciplines.

Provide technical guidance to engineers and inspectors and resolve mechanical design, installation, testing, and commissioning issues.

Monitor construction progress, conduct regular site inspections, and verify compliance with approved drawings, quality requirements, and safety standards.

Oversee testing, commissioning, performance verification, snagging, as-built documentation, O&M manuals, and project handover deliverables.

Prepare technical reports, review comments, risk assessments, recommendations, and progress updates for client and project management review.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certification is preferred.

Proven work experience of at least 10 years in pumping stations, irrigation systems, mechanical infrastructure, equipment installation, and construction supervision.

In-depth knowledge of pumping systems, irrigation networks, pump selection, hydraulic calculations, valves, piping, equipment installation, and commissioning.

Proficiency in using CAD software, pump selection software, hydraulic calculation tools, and Microsoft Office applications.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex mechanical data and provide practical engineering solutions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, clients, and authorities.

Construction and management of pumping and irrigation systems, preferably fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
