Role Context

This senior-level position will strengthen AECOM 's health and safety framework in Riyadh by aligning workplace practices with Saudi labor requirements, ISO 45001 and relevant international standards. The engineer will collaborate with operational leaders, employees, regulators and external specialists to embed effective controls throughout business activities and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain occupational health and safety policies.
  • Implement procedures and programs aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain alignment with Saudi labor regulations and ISO 45001.
  • Apply relevant OSHA principles and international safety practices.
  • Conduct comprehensive workplace risk assessments.
  • Perform hazard analyses across operational and project environments.
  • Recommend practical controls to eliminate or reduce identified risks.
  • Design and deliver safety training for employees at all levels.
  • Verify employee understanding of safety procedures and responsibilities.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, injuries and near-miss events.

  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.

Ideal Profile
  • Minimum 15 years of health and safety engineering experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Saudi occupational safety requirements.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA standards and ISO 45001.
  • Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment and hazard analysis.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing safety programs.
  • Strong background in incident investigation and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience managing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Proficiency with safety-management systems and related software.
