Job summary

ABB is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Saudi Arabia to lead installation, commissioning, servicing and retrofitting of ABB drives (LV & MV). You will assess customer requirements, size drives, configure software, and report on performance and warranty issues.

Travel to remote sites and delivering root-cause analyses are expected. Fluency in English and an Electrical/Electronics background are required, with 5–10 years of hands-on experience in drive systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/ Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• 5 to 10 years experience in installation, testing, commissioning and servicing of LV and MV drives.
• Fluent in English is required.

Responsibilities

• Checking installation and commissioning of newly installed LV ABB Drives for ongoing projects and reporting to customer, ABB installed base and service manager.
• Servicing faulty ABB medium voltage and low drives, ordering and replacing faulty parts, reporting warranty cases to manufacturer.
• Performing preventive maintenance of ABB drives and MV drives.
• Sizing and selecting LV & MV ABB drives and configuring them per customer application and control scheme.
• Engineering system interface for drives upgrades and retrofitting projects and for new installed drives projects.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis for customer failure.
• Testing, commissioning and troubleshooting MV variable frequency drives; certified on ABB products.
• Willingness to travel to remote sites for extended periods.
