The opportunity Field Service Engineering work is focused on providing technical advice to customers including commissioning, installing, and testing of products/equipment including: Identifying and correcting more complex problems associated with start-up. Researching, evaluating, and recommending new products or equipment upgrades that will meet customer needs.
Active participation in site activities and visiting the customer site for Installation testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of Hitachi HV GIS, GCB, LTB, DTB and other equipment as and when required or assigned by the line manager. Participating in the PGHV project and working with project team as and when assigned. Coordinate/interface with tools management department and take care of HV tools, arrange and properly use test equipment and tools to execute site activities for HV Products installation, testing and commissioning, protection and control. Complete GIS Bay or GIS compartment assembly work, minor fabrications if required, trouble shooting and rectification of HV products defect workable at customer site and advise the action plan if the repair work need to be carried out in Hitachi Energy factory or workshop. Supports the work activities of PGHV Service at site, and at customer workplace. Learn and perform the test equipment operation used for HV product testing, commissioning and maintenance work. Learn procedure and methods how to use the special tools used for HV products service jobs. Share the knowledge and teach the known skills to fellow engineers and technicians. Work with Project Management team on various project as and when required with full compliance of PM requirement and maintain discipline advise by the PM or customer site regulations. Lead the contractor or sub-contractor during job execution and coordinate with customer and back-office support for any resources requirements to complete the job. Get the PAC or time sheets signed by the customer after completion of assigned task that can be used to invoice the customer. Prepare and provide site reports, activity plans resource requirements and share it with the PM, line manager or supervisor, prepare method of statement as and when required that can be shared with the customer in case asked by the customer or it is a contractual binding. Follow the company rules and regulations, display good behaviour at office and at site, any safety or integrity incident should be reported to line manager, supervisor or project Manager. Implement Hitachi Energy values in day-to-day activity. Prepare and submit weekly and monthly time sheet, expanse report as per company guideline in timely manner, prepare travel authorisation prior to start the travelling for site or deployment. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. Your background Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering. 6-10 years of experience in high voltage products, electrical equipment, switchgears, and HV switchgear protection and control. Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Arabic language is required.
