Job summary

Our client, a Saudi Aramco onshore EPC contractor, is seeking a Senior E&I Engineer to lead electrical and instrumentation construction on an OMPP/pipeline package, directing E&I supervisors, technicians and subcontractors on site. The role reports to the Construction Manager and Saudi Aramco PMT, ensuring SAES standards and safe, compliant execution.

You will own the E&I construction plan from IFC through energisation, supervise overhead lines, CP works, fiber networks, RTU/SCADA, and wellhead

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical, Instrumentation and Control or Electrical and Electronics Engineering; Saudi Council of Engineers registration required.
• Oil and gas E&I construction on Saudi Aramco onshore projects with site-in-charge experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the E&I construction plan for the package from IFC review and material take-off through installation, testing, energisation and pre-commissioning.
• Direct installation and testing of overhead power lines (13.8 kV and 34.5 kV), switch racks, transformers, switchgear and grounding systems at wellsites.
• Lead cathodic protection works for wellhead casings and pipelines, including CP commissioning.
• Manage fiber optic and telecommunication cable installation, splicing and testing along pipeline corridors and to wellsites.
• Oversee installation and configuration of RTUs, UPS systems, fire and gas detection and SCADA integration with central facilities.
• Direct wellhead instrumentation installation and shutdown system testing.
• Run loop checks, instrument calibration, energisation packages, SAT and pre-commissioning per SAES procedures.

Job description

Our client is an established Saudi Aramco onshore EPC contractor headquartered in the Eastern Province, delivering Onshore Maintain Potential Program (OMPP) packages, cross-country pipelines, well tie-ins and upstream facilities across the Northern and Southern Areas. The company self-performs electrical and instrumentation construction on its pipeline and wellsite projects, from overhead power lines to RTU and SCADA integration.

About the Role

The Senior E&I Engineer runs the electrical and instrumentation construction on an OMPP / pipeline package: overhead power lines to new wells, cathodic protection of wellhead casings and pipelines, fiber optic and communication networks, RTU and SCADA installation, wellhead instrumentation and the energisation, loop testing and pre-commissioning that bring the package to mechanical completion. The role is the E&I in-charge on site, directing the E&I supervisors, technicians and subcontractors, and is accountable to the Construction Manager and the Saudi Aramco PMT for the discipline.

Key Responsiblites:

• Own the E&I construction plan for the package, from IFC review and material take-off through installation, testing, energisation and pre-commissioning.
• Direct installation and testing of overhead power lines (13.8 kV and 34.5 kV), switch racks, transformers, switchgear and grounding systems at wellsites, remote headers and valve stations.
• Lead cathodic protection works for wellhead casings and pipelines, including deep anode beds, surface beds, rectifiers, junction boxes, test stations and CP commissioning.
• Manage fiber optic and telecommunication cable installation, splicing and testing along pipeline corridors and to wellsites.
• Oversee installation and configuration of RTUs, UPS systems, fire and gas detection (LEL / H2S) and SCADA integration with the client's central processing facilities.
• Direct wellhead and I-Field instrumentation installation (PT, TT, FT, MOV, MCV, PDHMS, MPFM, corrosion monitoring) and shutdown system testing.
• Run loop checks, instrument calibration, energisation packages, SAT and pre-commissioning to Saudi Aramco procedures.

Client and standards

• Act as the E&I interface with the Saudi Aramco PMT, inspection and operations representatives.
• Ensure all E&I work complies with Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES-P, SAES-J, SAES-X), SAEP procedures and Schedule Q.
• Prepare and close inspection packages, RFIs, technical queries, NCRs and redline / as-built drawings for the discipline.
• Drive E&I mechanical completion dossiers, loop folders, punch-list closure and turnover.

Safety, quality and cost

• Hold the discipline to the client's HSE plan and Aramco electrical safety requirements, including lock-out / tag-out, energisation permits and work on or near live systems.
• Coordinate with QA/QC so that cable testing, CP surveys, loop test records and calibration certificates are current and audit-ready.
• Control E&I material, manpower and subcontractor cost against budget, and raise material requisitions in line with Aramco approved vendor lists.
• Identify E&I scope changes early and support change notices with technical substantiation.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation and Control, or Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Saudi Council of Engineers registration required.
• Experience: Oil and gas E&I construction on Saudi Aramco onshore projects, including at least one full package as the E&I engineer in charge of the site scope (Senior E&I Engineer, Lead E&I Engineer, E&I In-Charge, E&I Superintendent or E&I Manager).
• Core capability: Hands-on construction delivery of E&I scope on Saudi Aramco OMPP, cross-country pipeline or upstream wellsite packages, with demonstrated experience in at least two of: overhead power lines, cathodic protection, fiber optic networks, RTU / SCADA installation.
• Technical knowledge: Aramco SAES electrical and instrumentation standards, Schedule Q, energisation and loop testing procedures, wellhead instrumentation and I-Field systems.
• Certification: Saudi Aramco approval as E&I Engineer, E&I Supervisor or Lead Engineer preferred.
• Company environment: Background at an Aramco-approved EPC contractor delivering OMPP, MGS, Jafurah or upstream pipeline work. Design-office, consultancy and building MEP backgrounds will not be considered; the role is site construction, not engineering design.
• Nationality and residency: This position is reserved for Saudi nationals in line with the Kingdom's Saudization (Nitaqat) requirements.
• Location: Based in the Eastern Province, or willing to relocate to Dammam / Al Khobar and work from project sites.
