Job summary

Hill International in Riyadh is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead complex water and wastewater infrastructure design projects. You will oversee design consultants, coordinate activities, and report progress to project management and the client.

The role requires 15+ years post-graduation with strong water/wastewater design experience, master planning knowledge, and excellent communication skills. Your leadership will drive quality and sustainability in project execution.

Qualifications

• 15+ years' experience after graduation.
• 10+ years design experience related to water and wastewater.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater master plan.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in delivering the design per program and client requirements.
• Support managing the team of design engineers/consultants.
• Coordinate and monitor the development of the design consultant’s planned activities and provide progress reports.
• Plan and organize the review of the design consultant’s deliverables with SMEs and design review teams.
• Perform analysis on design plans.
• Review analysis findings for technical and business reports.
• Set up green initiatives in design processes.
• Specify proper analytical methods which support decision-making.
• Provide quality assessment reports to Project Management and the client.
• Assist the Contracts Department and Construction teams in pre-construction and post contract award activities.
• Informs themselves of the relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals and Procedures and ensures compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.

Job description

• Senior Design Engineer is required to combine their technical experience and knowledge for the management of Water / Wastewater Treatment Plant, pumping stations and desalination plant design by the client’s design consultants for Regional Infrastructure Water Projects.
• Support the Project Manager in managing and delivering the design in accordance with the Program and the requirements of the client.
• Support managing the team of design engineers/consultants.
• Coordinate and monitor the development of the design consultant’s planned activities and provide progress reports to Design Project Management, highlighting performance to plan.
• Plan and organize the review of the design consultant’s deliverables, interfacing with subject matter experts and design review teams.
• Perform analysis on design plans.
• Review analysis findings for technical and business reports.
• Set up green initiatives in design processes.
• Specify proper analytical methods which support decision‑making.
• Provide quality assessment reports to Project Management and the client.
• Assist the Contracts Department and Construction teams in pre‑construction and post contract award activities.
• Informs themselves of the relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals and Procedures in place within Hill International, and ensures continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Hill.

• Bachelor / Master of engineering or from an accredited university.
• Minimum 15 years’ experience after graduation
• Minimum of 10 years of design experience related to water and wastewater projects
• Knowledge of water and wastewater master plan
• Ability to review and approve design related to water and wastewater works.
