Job summary

DS DeepSource is seeking a highly experienced Senior MS SQL & Oracle Database Engineer to manage and support critical database infrastructure within a banking environment. The role focuses on ensuring high availability, performance, and security of on‑premises SQL Server and Oracle databases.

Candidates must have banking experience and at least 7 years of hands‑on MS SQL and Oracle work, including clustering, replication, and DR.

Qualifications

• Banking experience – Mandatory.
• 10+ years of total IT experience.
• Minimum 7 years of hands-on MS SQL and Oracle experience.
• Hands-on experience with MS SQL and Oracle replication / DR environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support MS SQL Server and Oracle databases in a banking environment.
• Manage and maintain on-premises MS SQL and Oracle database clusters.
• Configure and support database clustering, replication, and DR environments.
• Support database replication between primary production environments and DR sites.
• Troubleshoot complex database availability, performance, and connectivity issues.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and fine-tuning of MS SQL queries.
• Analyze query execution and identify performance bottlenecks.
• Ensure database environments maintain high availability and operational reliability.
• Support database-related incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Work closely with infrastructure, application, network, and other technical teams to resolve database issues.
• Support database maintenance and operational activities in accordance with banking requirements.
