Job summary

Salla is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to own the metrics and analytics layer of its growing e-commerce platform. You will drive how merchants understand and grow their businesses through data, ensuring every report and model is accurate, unified, and scalable.

You will collaborate with Platform teams to unify data models and establish a single analytical foundation, while maintaining strong documentation and governance to support growth analytics for merchants and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data science or analytics engineering.
• Experience governing metrics layers / semantic models.
• Strong SQL and Python; work with warehouse data.
• Experience building merchant analytics products.
• Excellent naming, documentation, and standards.

Responsibilities

• Own the analytics direction of the Data Platform — define the vision, standards, and roadmap for metrics, models, and reporting delivered through the platform layer.
• Unify data models across product areas — consolidate fragmented metric definitions into a single, governed semantic layer.
• Drive merchant analytics success — design, validate, and improve the reports and analytics merchants rely on.
• Establish documentation standards — ensure APIs, datasets, metrics, and columns are clearly defined and named.
• Enable growth analysis — build cohorts, funnels, growth metrics, and benchmarks for accurate study.
• Guard data quality and consistency — define validation rules and metric governance so numbers match everywhere.
• Partner cross-functionally — advise engineering and product on how to build against the analytics platform.
