Job summary

Norconsult Telematics is seeking a Senior QS Engineer to manage quantity surveying and invoicing for civil and architectural packages within a PMC environment.

The role requires 5–10 years of experience, strong contract knowledge (FIDIC) and proficiency in CostX or Candy. You will verify budgets, collaborate with design and construction teams, and prepare commercial reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, civil or architectural engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in quantity surveying for civil/architectural works in consultancy/PMC.
• Knowledge of measurement methods, FIDIC contracts, and cost standards.
• Proficient in MS Excel, CostX or Candy software.
• MRICS/AIQS membership is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review BOQ and take-offs for civil and architectural works from drawings.
• Prepare tender documents such as RFPs and perform tender analysis.
• Forecast and validate budgets and expenditures with accurate cost estimates.
• Review monthly interim valuations and payment applications from contractors.
• Certify measurements, validate progress quantities, and liaise with site team.
• Prepare all commercial management reports and manage variations/ change orders.

Position Objective

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior QS Engineer Civil Architectural Works to join our team within a leading Project Management Consultancy PMC. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of quantity surveying and invoicing across civil and architectural packages. He will play a key role in ensuring that invoices are released complying with contractual obligations and contractual payment terms.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Review Bill of Quantities BOQ and take-offs for civil and architectural works from drawings and specifications
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents such as Request for Proposals RFP
• The candidate must possess proven expertise in cost estimation and validation ensuring accurate forecasting and verification of project budgets and expenditures
• Evaluate Contractor Bids and provide tender analysis report
• Review and certify monthly interim valuations measurements and payment applications submitted by contractors
• Collaborate with site team to validate quantities
• Check and record measurements of completed work
• Conduct site visits to verify progress quantities and quality of work
• Make sure that all cost and quantity records are streamlined and kept in order
• Evaluate the unit rate for new work items
• Assess and evaluate variations claims and change orders including negotiation and settlement
• Prepare all commercial management reports related to change management
• Knowledge of international contracts Ensure adherence to contractual and commercial terms in line with the Conditions of Contract
• Collaborate with the design team construction team and client representatives to resolve commercial and contractual issues
• Participate in final account preparation and close-out process

Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in quantity surveying, Civil Engineering, or Architectural Engineering
• 5 10 years of experience in quantity surveying with civil and architectural works in a consultancy or PMC environment
• Strong knowledge of measurement methods, standard forms of contract (e.g., FIDIC), and local/international cost standards
• Proficiency in MS Excel, CostX, Candy, or similar QS software
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and methodologies
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Professional membership (MRICS, AIQS, or equivalent) is a plus
