Job summary

TRACTEBEL ENGINEERING S.A DUBAI BRANCH is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer – Roads & Infrastructure to lead planning, design, supervision and delivery of major road and infrastructure projects in the region.

Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years in roads/infrastructure, professional registration, and proven leadership in multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation and Primavera P6 is preferred, along with GCC/Middle East standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Master's Degree in Transportation, Infrastructure Engineering, or Project Management is an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in roads and infrastructure projects.
• Professional Engineering registration or chartered status is preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer — Roads & Infrastructure with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the planning, design, supervision and delivery of roads and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and engineering expertise in the execution of transportation and infrastructure developments, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, schedules and budget requirements.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholder relationships, review engineering designs and oversee construction activities to ensure successful project delivery.
• Support Project Managers and Resident Engineers in the successful delivery of projects.
• Project Management & Coordination: Monitor project schedules, budgets and resource requirements; coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants and government authorities; and participate in project planning progress meetings and technical workshops to ensure project objectives are achieved within approved timelines and budgets.
• Construction Supervision: Supervise construction activities related to roads, highways, bridges, utility networks and associated infrastructure; ensure works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and contract requirements; monitor site progress and resolve technical issues during construction.
• Quality Management: Ensure compliance with project quality requirements and standards; review and approve material submittals and technical reports; monitor testing activities for soils, concrete, asphalt, aggregates and infrastructure works; review and address non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
• Health Safety & Environmental Compliance: Ensure implementation of project HSE requirements; promote safe construction practices and compliance with HSE regulations; participate in safety audits and site inspections; support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
• Stakeholder Authority Coordination: Coordinate with municipalities, transportation authorities, utility providers and other stakeholders; support submissions, approvals, permits and authority coordination processes; represent the project during technical presentations and review meetings.
• Contract Administration: Review contractor claims, variation orders and technical proposals; assist in evaluating progress payments and project deliverables; support contract administration activities and project close-out processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Master's Degree in Transportation, Infrastructure Engineering, or Project Management is an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in roads and infrastructure projects.

Technical Skills

• Extensive experience in: Road and highway engineering, Infrastructure design and construction, Utility coordination, Pavement engineering, Drainage and stormwater systems, Earthworks and grading.
• Strong knowledge of: AASHTO Standards, ASTM Standards, BS / EN Standards, Local Municipality and Authority Standards.
• Familiarity with engineering software such as: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, MX Road/OpenRoads, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

• Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and contractor interfaces.
