Job summary

Penta Consulting Ltd in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is seeking a Senior Semantic & BI Lead to own the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of the Semantic and Data Mart layer within a Teradata-based Enterprise Data Warehouse.

You will collaborate with business and technology stakeholders in the Financial Services domain, mentor a team of semantic developers, drive performance tuning, UAT, and production deployments, while enforcing data governance.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in Semantic Layer and Data Mart design within Teradata.
• Experience in Financial Services, corporate banking.
• Hands-on design of Semantic Layers from scratch using Teradata FSDM.
• Proficient with ERWin Data Modeler for logical and physical modelling.
• Strong Teradata SQL including complex queries, optimization.
• Experience leading Semantic Layer teams and coordinating UAT & deployments.

# Semantic & BI LeadJob Reference No.CR/030774Job Type: ContractLocation: Riyadh, Saudi ArabiaJob Reference No.: CR/030774**Role Overview**A senior technical leader responsible for end-to-end design, development, and delivery of the Semantic and Data Mart Layer within a Teradata-based Enterprise Data Warehouse environment, working closely with business and technology stakeholders in the Financial Services domain.**Key Responsibilities**• Engage directly with Business Teams to elicit, document, and translate reporting requirements into technical data models and semantic layer designs.• Design Semantic and Data Mart layers from scratch using ERWin Data Modeler, aligned with enterprise data architecture standards.• Lead and mentor a team of Semantic Layer developers across parallel development streams, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely delivery.• Drive end-to-end delivery lifecycle including design, development, performance tuning, UAT coordination, and production deployment.• Collaborate with ETL/ELT teams to ensure seamless data flow from source systems into the Data Mart and Semantic layers.• Enforce data governance, data quality standards, and naming conventions across the Semantic Layer.• Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in Teradata EDW environments.• Serve as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and the technical development team.**Must-Have Skills & Experience**• 12+ years of hands-on experience in Semantic Layer and Data Mart design and development within Teradata environments.• Must have experience in the Financial Services industry, preferably in Corporate Banking domain.• Must have hands-on experience designing Semantic Layers from scratch using Teradata Financial Services Data Model (FSDM).• Must have hands-on experience with ERWin Data Modeler for logical and physical data modelling.• Must have strong Teradata SQL skills including complex query writing, optimization, and troubleshooting.• Must have proven experience in Teradata EDW performance optimization (indexing strategies, workload management, query tuning).• Must have experience leading Semantic Layer development teams across parallel workstreams.• Must have experience in coordinating UAT and managing production deployments.**Good to Have**• Exposure to BI/reporting tools such as MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Power BI, or Tableau.• Familiarity with Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies.• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and metadata management.• Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, BTEQ, TPT, or equivalent).**Soft Skills**• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.• Ability to translate complex technical concepts for business audiences.• Proactive problem-solver with a delivery-focused mindset.• Comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
