Purpose

Maximize sales in the area of responsibility using knowledge of the particular product range, top-sellers, 4Aces, 1 King, and the local market and customers. Utilize IKEA tools and the experience and expertise of colleagues. Support the efficient working of the IKEA mechanical sales system to ensure the continued success of the IKEA Concept.

Responsibilities

Contribute to fulfilling the four tasks of the IKEA store:

  • Act as a highly efficient and staffed sales mechanism.
  • Show home furnishing solutions full of inspiring home furnishing ideas.
  • Serve as a well-qualified home furnishing specialist.
  • Provide a day out for the whole family.
Accountabilities
  • Actively approach customers who require additional help. Identify their needs by asking the right questions and advise on the best solutions for their homes in order to exceed expectations.
  • Understand how to use the different IKEA sales and communication channels and know how to interact with the various customers.
  • Keep the area of responsibility clean, tidy, priced, and fully stocked. Ensure that the IKEA basic merchandising standards are in place at all times to provide a positive shopping experience.
  • Convey passion about IKEA products and actively learn about their features and benefits, sharing this knowledge with customers and colleagues.
  • Understand the store and department action plans. Take responsibility for department goals and know how to contribute.
  • Actively offer all services available in the IKEA store to help customers make informed choices, resulting in a better shopping experience.
  • Lead and/or support the implementation of planned commercial activities involving the department throughout the store.
  • Ensure maximization of sales while maintaining profitability by knowing and actively steering towards top-selling and prioritized products (e.g., overstock/övertag).
Qualifications and Experience
  • Highschool or higher degree
  • Communicate confidently and clearly in English
  • Knowledge of local market
  • The right attitude and behavior to sell actively and help customers to buy.
  • Understanding of customer behavior.
  • Knowledge of the IKEA product range, including service products.
