Qualifications

• Proven welding experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/technical drawings.
• Proficient in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques.
• Knowledge of metallurgy principles is a plus.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in welding.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physical strength to lift heavy items and manage in a workshop.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints or technical drawings and determine welding requirements.
• Set up welding machines based on project specifications.
• Prepare metals for welding according to required methods (e.g. cutting).
• Use manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to join metal components.
• Repair or modify existing metal items by cutting, adding or replacing pieces.
• Inspect completed work for accuracy and adherence to specifications.
• Follow safety guidelines at all times.
