Job summary

Aramco seeks an experienced Process Simulation Twin (PST) and Optimization Engineer to join its Reliability Solutions Department within the Global Manufacturing Excellence Center in Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on online process simulations, real-time data integration, and advanced process optimization beyond traditional simulation.

You will bridge thermodynamic models, PSTs, and AI-enabled analytics, leading KPI monitoring, cross-functional sessions, and debottlenecking of key units such as

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 15 years in process simulations, online modeling or real-time optimization (ROMeo preferred).
• 20 years of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, deployment, and sustainment of PST integrating real-time data with simulation engines.
• Configure connectivity between plant historians, LIS, and simulation software for data ingestion.
• Use PST for automated monitoring of facility health and identify opportunity gaps.
• Maintain thermodynamic models and equations representing current plant state.
• Conduct offline studies using PST to analyze bottlenecks and what-if scenarios.
• Liaise between data teams and Operations/Process Engineering, leading model architecture sessions.
• Lead optimization sessions to debottleneck CDU/VDU, Hydrocrackers, Catalytic crackers, Diesel Hydrotreaters, Isomerization.
• Benchmark KPIs across 15+ facilities and develop programs and best practices.
• Provide SME support to Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams; participate in technical exchanges.
