We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. As a crucial member of our organisation, you will play a vital role in managing costs for construction projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labour, and equipment
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, monitoring expenditures throughout the project lifecycle
  • Analyse and report on project costs, providing regular updates to stakeholders
  • Prepare and negotiate contracts with contractors and suppliers
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses for various project options and value engineering exercises
  • Assess and process interim payments, variations, and final accounts
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure cost-effective project delivery
  • Identify and mitigate potential financial risks throughout the project
  • Prepare tender documents and evaluate bids from contractors and suppliers
  • Advise on procurement strategies and contractual matters
  • Stay current with local construction regulations and market trends in Jeddah and the wider Saudi Arabian context
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Professional certification from a recognised institution (e.g., RICS, AACE International) is highly desirable
  • Minimum of 12 years' experience in quantity surveying or cost consultancy, preferably with exposure to projects in Saudi Arabia
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and team members
  • In-depth knowledge of construction industry standards, practices, and current market rates in Saudi Arabia
  • Familiarity with Saudi Arabian construction regulations and standards
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong organisational skills and capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic would be an advantage
  • Willingness to travel within Saudi Arabia as required for project site visits
