Job summary

Almarai is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager (Seafood) to lead quality and food safety across the seafood manufacturing facility in Rabigh. You will drive QMS, HACCP, ISO certifications, and audits while managing a comprehensive lab testing program and a high-performance QA team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or related discipline.
• Lead Auditor certification in ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, ISO 14001 or equivalent.
• HACCP Certification.
• Minimum 8 years of Quality Assurance experience in food manufacturing.
• Strong seafood processing industry experience is essential.
• Experience with microbiological risk management, product QA and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain site QMS and Food Safety Management Systems.
• Develop, implement, and improve HACCP plans and food safety programs per ISO/FSSC requirements.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and certifications.
• Manage laboratory operations including microbiological and chemical testing.
• Lead internal and external audits for certification and compliance.
• Monitor KPIs, complaints, non-conformances, recalls, and CAPA actions.
• Drive CI initiatives for quality, waste reduction, and cost optimization.
• Oversee supplier quality including packaging and raw materials.
• Lead hygiene, housekeeping, pest control, and environmental monitoring programs.
• Provide leadership and coaching to the Quality team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet objectives.
• Develop annual departmental budgets and manage costs.

About the Role:

The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with company Quality and Food Safety Policies, Quality Management Systems, regulatory requirements, and business objectives. The role will lead all quality-related processes, personnel, and resources while driving a culture of food safety, continuous improvement, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction throughout the seafood manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain site Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Food Safety Management Systems.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve HACCP plans and food safety programs in accordance with ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000 requirements.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and international food safety certifications.
• Manage laboratory operations, including microbiological, chemical, and product quality testing activities.
• Lead internal and external audits, ensuring successful certification and compliance outcomes.
• Monitor quality KPIs, customer complaints, product non-conformances, recalls, and food safety incidents, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality performance, waste reduction, cost optimization, and customer satisfaction.
• Manage supplier quality performance, including packaging and raw material suppliers.
• Lead hygiene, housekeeping, pest control, and environmental monitoring programs.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the Quality team while building a high-performance culture.
• Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to achieve business objectives.
• Develop annual departmental budgets and ensure effective cost management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
• Lead Auditor certification in ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, ISO 14001, or equivalent.
• HACCP Certification.
• Minimum 8 years of Quality Assurance experience within food manufacturing.
• Strong experience in the seafood processing industry is essential.
• Experience managing food safety systems, laboratory operations, and quality teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience with microbiological risk management, product quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
• Previous experience within a multinational FMCG or food manufacturing organization is highly desirable.
