Job summary

Accor is seeking a Public Area Supervisor to oversee the daily cleaning and maintenance of all public areas within the hotel. You will ensure that areas are clean, safe, and presented to brand standards and guest expectations.

Collaborate with Housekeeping and other departments to ensure smooth operations and outstanding guest experiences. This role emphasizes coaching staff on cleaning procedures and safety practices while maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily Public Area Attendants.
• Ensure lobbies, corridors, restrooms and restaurants are clean.
• Perform regular inspections for cleanliness and presentation.
• Assign daily tasks and work schedules.
• Monitor staff grooming, attendance and policy adherence.
• Ensure safe use and storage of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Report maintenance issues and safety hazards to the right dept.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping and other departments for smooth operations.
• Handle guest requests related to cleanliness promptly.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, health and safety standards.
• Train and coach staff on cleaning procedures and service standards.
• Maintain stock of cleaning supplies and report shortages.

Job Description

The Public Area Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily cleaning and maintenance of all public areas within the hotel. The role ensures that public areas are consistently clean, safe, well-maintained, and presented according to the hotel’s standards and guest expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Public Area Attendants.
• Ensure all public areas, including lobbies, corridors, elevators, restrooms, restaurants, back-of-house areas, and other facilities are clean and well-maintained.
• Conduct regular inspections of public areas and ensure high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
• Assign daily tasks and work schedules to team members.
• Monitor staff performance, grooming, attendance, and adherence to hotel policies and procedures.
• Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies.
• Report maintenance issues, damages, safety hazards, and defects to the relevant department.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Handle guest requests and respond promptly to cleanliness-related concerns.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Train and coach team members on cleaning procedures, service standards, and safe working practices.
• Maintain adequate stock of cleaning supplies and report shortages to the Housekeeping management.
• Support the Housekeeping team during busy periods and special events.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Housekeeping Manager or management.
