Job summary

WSP in Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in construction supervision of major infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, highways and tunnels. The role requires leadership, technical oversight and effective coordination with clients, contractors, subconsultants and authorities to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery.

The candidate should have 20+ years in project supervision, 5+ years in the Saudi/GCC consultancy scene, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; master's preferred.
• Minimum 20 years in construction supervision of roads, bridges, highways and tunnels.
• At least 5 years in Saudi Arabia or GCC in a consultancy role.
• Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects under Saudi standards (MOT, Aramco or similar).
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC or similar contract frameworks; PMP preferred.
• Excellent communication and leadership; fluent English (Arabic a plus).

Responsibilities

• Lead the construction supervision team for major infrastructure projects.
• Manage day-to-day project operations, ensuring compliance with contracts, specs, quality standards and local regulations.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, subconsultants and government authorities to resolve issues.
• Prepare and manage project schedules, monitor progress and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee QA/QC and HSE compliance on-site.
• Review and approve method statements, shop drawings, RFIs and submittals.
• Monitor contractor performance, delays, variations and support change orders/claims.
• Lead progress meetings and provide regular reports to management and clients.
• Ensure milestones and deliverables are met within budget and schedule.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering major transportation projects within the construction consultancy sector in Saudi Arabia or the Gulf region. This role requires effective leadership, technical oversight, contract administration, and stakeholder coordination to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality project delivery.

• Lead the construction supervision team for major infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, highways, and tunnels.
• Manage day-to-day project operations, ensuring compliance with contract documents, specifications, quality standards, and local regulations.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, subconsultants, and government authorities to resolve technical and contractual issues.
• Prepare and manage project schedules, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Oversee quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) and health, safety & environmental (HSE) compliance on-site.
• Review and approve project documentation such as method statements, shop drawings, RFIs, and technical submittals.
• Monitor contractor performance, track delays or variations, and support the preparation of change orders and claims.
• Lead progress meetings, provide regular reporting to senior management and the client.
• Ensure project milestones and deliverables are met within budget and on schedule.

• Certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) is preferred.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
• Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
