Job summary

Advanced Metals Company for Mining (AMCO) in Dammam is seeking a Procurement professional to manage requisitions, BOM reviews, tender documentation, and vendor selection for the mining operations. The role involves placing purchase orders within delegated authority and ensuring commercial protection.

The ideal candidate has an engineering background and hands-on experience in supplier management, ERP-based procurement, and lifecycle cost analysis to optimize purchasing outcomes.

Qualifications

• Engineering graduate or higher qualification.
• Experience in procurement and purchasing processes.
• Knowledge of supplier selection and tender documentation.
• Ability to place purchase orders within delegated authority.

Responsibilities

• Review Stores Requisition for goods and services being Purchased.
• Review the Bill Of Material for the Job related Purchasing.
• Record tender information incl. Vendor price, delivery terms and conditions.
• Carry out Subcon related jobs including Fabrications, Machining, Calibration, Building maintenance.
• Contribute to value analysis & life cycle costing with the supply chain manager.
• Ensure all information, drawings & procedures are enclosed with the PO.

Role Purpose

To accept purchase requisitions, Bills of Material (i.e., inputs for the P.O) and actual purchasing or preparing of purchase orders and vendor selection.

Job Accountabilities & Activities

• Receives and reviews ‘Stores Requisition’ for goods and services being Purchased
• Receives and reviews the ‘Bill Of Material’ for the Job related Purchasing
• Receive documented proposals or quotes & record tender information incl. Vendor price, delivery terms and conditions
• All Subcon related jobs including and not limited to (Fabrications, Machining, Calibration, Building maintenance, etc..).
• Carry out value analysis & life cycle costing (in conjunction with the supply chain manager)
• Ensure that all relevant information, drawings & procedures called for on the purchase requisition or any relevant specification are enclosed with the purchase order.
• Place purchase orders within delegated authority and ensure the company is fully protected commercially.
• Ensure that goods and services are procured only from Approved supplier.
• Update Supplier Database whenever a new supplier in accordance with the Protocol and with QC Dept. involvement.
• Liaise with suppliers though telephone and mail (as required).
• Review Purchase Requisitions with Procurement Lead before issue of P.O.
• Communicate progress of ordered goods and services to internal customers.
• Maintain a manual file / log of Purchase orders with Date of Purchase, Job No, level of inspection, originator or traceability for back up of ERP.
• Send RFQ’s (with all the relevant details) to suppliers.
• Strategies for cost effective procurement.
• Use supplier performance and previous history (check within ERP system) of suppliers before placing order
• Rationalize the vendor database by setting up partnerships and framework agreements with key vendor

Education & Certifications

Engineering Graduate or higher qualification
