Job summary

TRS Staffing Solutions seeks a Process Safety Engineer for a client project in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. Lead process safety studies across PDP, FEED and DEP, ensuring inherently safer design and compliance with industry standards.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement safeguarding hierarchy and verify relief and hazardous area concepts. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering with 10+ years in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery or chemical processing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Formal training or certification in Process Safety is an advantage.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, or chemical processing environments.
• Proven hands-on experience delivering projects across PDP, FEED, and DEP phases is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate process safety studies (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA), including scope definition, node selection, documentation, and action closure.
• Ensure process safety is embedded across PDP, FEED, and DEP phases, applying inherently safer design principles and safeguarding hierarchy.
• Review and validate relief, flare, overpressure, and hazardous area concepts in line with API 521 and international standards.
• Develop and review Process Safety Design Philosophy and verify protection layers (instrumented, procedural, mechanical).
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulations, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and reviewing licensor/vendor deliverables.
