Job summary

TRS Staffing Solutions is partnering with a major client to hire a senior Process Safety Engineer in the oil & gas sector. The role requires leading process safety studies, embedding safety across PDP, FEED, and DEP, and ensuring compliance with API 521 and international standards.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, 10+ years of experience in relevant industries, and a certification in Process Safety. Strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Formal training or certification in Process Safety is an advantage.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, or chemical processing environments.
• Proven hands-on experience delivering projects across PDP, FEED, and DEP phases is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate process safety studies (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA).
• Ensure process safety is embedded across PDP, FEED, and DEP phases.
• Review relief, flare, overpressure, and hazardous area concepts per API 521 and international standards.
• Develop and review Process Safety Design Philosophy and verify protection layers (instrumented, procedural, mechanical).
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and review licensor/vendor deliverables.
