Job description

Leverage your abilitiesand join the dynamic team of a Saudi Governmental entity.

They are looking for experienced Probabilistic Safety Assessment to provide technical expertise in Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) Level 1 and Level 2.

TheProbabilistic Safety AssessmentExpert'srole involves reviewing and assessing relevant submittals within the construction license application, as well as providing on-the-job training and mentorship to the staff in the field of nuclear safety and PSA.

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Key Accountabilities
  • Provide expert technical support in Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) Level 1 and Level 2 for the Preliminary Safety Analysis Report (PSAR).
  • Support early interactions with the Applicant for the construction license of the LNPP (Nuclear Power Plant).
  • Review and assess relevant submittals within the construction license application.
  • Develop and implement training programs and materials to support on-the-job training of staff, particularly in PSA Level 1 and Level 2.
  • Facilitate the review of PSA-related chapters of the PSAR, contributing to the development of safety evaluation reports and case studies.
  • Provide guidance on the integration of PSA with the design and system analysis of NPP safety reports.
  • Assist in the capacity development of staff in nuclear safety and PSA methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with IAEA safety standards and support the development of the regulatory framework for nuclear safety.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

We are Looking for:

  • Advanced University degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or a related field with a focus on PSA Level 1 and/or Level 2.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in nuclear science/engineering, specifically within the nuclear safety context.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing regulatory frameworks and processes for nuclear installations, with a focus on PSA Level 1 and/or Level 2.
  • Strong knowledge of PSA techniques, tools, and their application in nuclear safety.
  • In-depth understanding of the Nuclear Safety framework, including licensing processes and regulatory oversight for nuclear power plants.
  • Extensive experience in reviewing and assessing NPP safety analysis reports, particularly those related to PSA and their integration with design and system analysis chapters.
  • Experience working with countries embarking on nuclear power programs and applying IAEA safety standards (GSR Part 4, SSG-3, SSG-4).
  • Practical experience in developing technical documents related to nuclear safety and regulatory frameworks, especially IAEA safety standards (SSG-3, SSG-4).
  • Proven ability to manage and implement complex technical or scientific projects.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
