Job summary

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the Volcanology, Igneous Petrology and Geochemistry group within the Earth Science and Engineering Division. The 2-year position focuses on Proterozoic VMS deposits of the Arabian Shield, combining fieldwork, geochemistry, geochronology and geologic interpretation.

The successful candidate will develop mineral system models, work independently, and contribute to peer-reviewed

Qualifications

• PhD in Earth Sciences, Geosciences, Geochemistry, Mineralogy or closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Investigate formation and evolution of Proterozoic VMS deposits of the Arabian Shield.
• Conduct fieldwork including detailed geological mapping and sampling.
• Perform lab analyses such as petrography, geochronology, whole-rock and mineral geochemistry.
• Translate data into scientific outputs including peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
