Urbacon Saudi Company is recruiting a Planning Engineer in Saudi Arabia. The posting places the role at the interface between design and construction. It monitors the engineering design stages, reviews consultant design plans and authority approvals so that design and construction programmes do not clash, and watches the procurement process so that materials reach site in line with the construction plan.

The scheduling duties are set out at length. The engineer manages the project schedules against the work breakdown structure, keeps them updated to a level of certainty that allows forecasting and control, and produces pre-design, design, tender and award, procurement, construction and completion schedules that depict the project and the contractual requirements.

Resource and cost loaded schedules are named, as are manpower, material and submittal histograms. Progress is evaluated against the contract schedule to produce performance assessment and forecasts.

The role runs what-if analyses for the project director, reviews and evaluates subcontractors' schedules and recommends what is needed to bring subcontracted items back into line with the contract programme, and writes the progress monitoring part of the monthly report to the client.
