Job summary

Matar Al Baqmi Holding Company in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a Planning Engineer to lead production planning and scheduling for HVAC coil products (chilled water coils, condenser coils, and evaporator coils). You will coordinate with sales, procurement, and production to develop daily, weekly, and monthly plans, optimize resource use, and ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires advanced Excel, ERP/MRP knowledge, and strong communication and problem-solving skills to drive process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/industrial engineering or related field.
• 5-8 years experience in manufacturing planning (preferably HVAC or heat exchangers).
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
• Good understanding of HVAC coil manufacturing processes.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales orders and forecasts.
• Create detailed production schedules for coil manufacturing processes (fin pressing, tube expansion, brazing, testing, etc.).
• Ensure efficient machine loading and manpower utilization.
• Adjust plans based on priority orders, delays, or material shortages.
• Analyze BOM and coordinate with procurement for materials.
• Monitor inventory levels and avoid overstocking or shortages.
• Track lead times and update planning parameters accordingly.
• Liaise with sales on order priorities and delivery commitments.
• Coordinate with production supervisors to ensure adherence to schedules.
• Work with procurement, quality, and logistics teams; provide regular updates on production status and delays.
• Evaluate production capacity vs. demand; identify bottlenecks and propose solutions.
• Support expansion planning and equipment utilization analysis.
• Track KPIs, prepare planning reports, analyze deviations, and implement corrective actions.
• Identify inefficiencies and support lean initiatives; participate in ERP/MRP improvements.
• Maintain planning data in ERP; update routings, work centers, and production parameters.

Job description

Job Role:

The Planning Engineer is responsible for production planning, scheduling, and coordination of manufacturing activities related to HVAC coil products (e.g., chilled water coils, condenser coils, and Evaporator coils).

The role ensures optimal use of resources, on-time delivery, and alignment between sales, procurement, and production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Scheduling:

• Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales orders and forecasts
• Create detailed production schedules for coil manufacturing processes (fin pressing, tube expansion, brazing, testing, etc.)
• Ensure efficient machine loading and manpower utilization
• Adjust plans based on priority orders, delays, or material shortages

2. Material Requirement Planning (MRP):

• Analyze Bill of Materials (BOM) for HVAC coils
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials (copper tubes, aluminum fins, headers, etc.)
• Monitor inventory levels and avoid overstocking or shortages
• Track lead times and update planning parameters accordingly

3. Coordination & Communication:

• Liaise with sales team regarding order priorities and delivery commitments
• Coordinate with production supervisors to ensure adherence to schedules
• Work closely with procurement, quality, and logistics teams
• Provide regular updates on production status and delays

4. Capacity Planning:

• Evaluate production capacity vs. demand
• Identify bottlenecks in coil manufacturing processes
• Recommend solutions such as overtime, outsourcing, or process improvements
• Support expansion planning and equipment utilization analysis

5. Monitoring & Reporting:

• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as:
  • On-time delivery (OTD)
  • Production efficiency
  • Plan vs. actual output
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly planning reports
• Analyze deviations and implement corrective actions

6. Process Improvement:

• Identify inefficiencies in planning and production workflows
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives
• Improve scheduling accuracy and reduce lead times
• Participate in ERP/MRP system improvements

7. Documentation & Systems:

• Maintain accurate planning data in ERP system
• Update routings, work centers, and production parameters
• Ensure proper documentation of production plans and revisions
