Overview

Preparing and reviewing designs for mechanical engineering projects and works, preparing methodologies for assembling, installing, and operating mechanical equipment in different types of projects, preparing programs for the equipment operation and maintenance, and preparing documents and reports showing conclusions related to the work subject of the scope. Also, the mechanical engineer shall prepare material orders and tests related to the equipment and devices such as central air conditioning units, chillers, AHUs, FCUs, exhaust fans, pumps, compressors, cooling towers, and other HVAC equipment.

Responsibilities

• Preparing plans for assembling and installing mechanical equipment.
• Preparing plans for mechanical engineering projects which might include generators, pumps, compressors, fans, turbines, air conditioning units and networks, boilers, and other related equipment.
• Preparing documents and reports related to engineering works and projects.
• Preparing operation and maintenance schedules and guidelines.
• Preparing daily reports related to operation and maintenance as well as to revise the daily logs.
• Preparing equipment operation and maintenance plans according manufacturers recommendations and following up on the implementation.
• Knowledgeable of water-cooling systems, HVAC air side units, split units, and ventilation systems.
• Preparing preventive maintenance programs, identifying the required spare parts, and supervising the replacement for each case.
• The ability to detect mechanical faults and determine their causes, and to carry out the required repair works.
• Conducting the necessary modifications to install some spare parts.
• Understanding of mechanical and control circuit diagrams and the ability to understand operation and maintenance information.
• Leading the technicians team on site.
• Monitoring the performance of mechanical equipment.
• Performing HVAC related calculations and reviewing air duct designs using modern programs related to the field of work.
