Job summary

Worley in Khobar, Saudi Arabia, is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to develop and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinate interfaces, and support progress reporting across oil and gas, refining, and petrochemical projects.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, Primavera P6 proficiency, and strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills; Saudi Arabia experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management or related discipline.
  • Experience in project planning, scheduling or project controls within oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, energy or industrial sectors.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6.
  • Experience developing and maintaining detailed Level 3 project or engineering schedules.
  • Willingness to work full-time on-site at the Home Office in Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

  • Develop, maintain and update project schedules in accordance with project requirements and approved execution plans.
  • Coordinate planning interfaces between project team, client and EPC contractors.
  • Monitor engineering, procurement, construction and other project-execution activities.
  • Prepare daily and weekly progress and performance reports.
  • Support earned value analysis and schedule-performance assessment.
  • Identify schedule variances, delays and risks.
  • Monitor procurement plans and vendor delivery dates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing, maintaining and updating project schedules in accordance with project requirements and approved execution plans.
  • Supporting the development and coordination of detailed work packs.
  • Coordinating planning and scheduling interfaces between the project team, client and EPC contractors.
  • Monitoring engineering, procurement, construction and other project-execution activities.
  • Preparing daily and weekly progress and performance reports.
  • Supporting earned value analysis and the assessment of project performance against approved baselines.
  • Identifying schedule variances, delays, constraints and emerging project risks.
  • Developing and maintaining detailed Level 3 engineering and project schedules.
  • Supporting the management and updating of the Client Master Schedule.
  • Monitoring engineering deliverables through the Master Document Register and Engineering Deliverables Status Register.
  • Tracking engineering progress against approved schedules and progress-measurement systems.
  • Monitoring procurement plans, purchase orders, vendor documentation, equipment and material delivery dates.
  • Preparing procurement progress reports and highlighting activities that may affect project milestones.
  • Reviewing contractor schedules, progress updates, look-ahead schedules and forecasts.
  • Supporting the verification of quantities included in contractor progress submissions.
  • Validating reported physical progress against supporting project records and completed work.
  • Monitoring critical and near-critical activities and assessing their potential impact on project completion.
  • Supporting the development of schedule-recovery and mitigation plans where required.
  • Coordinating with engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams to confirm progress and forecast completion dates.
  • Preparing schedule analysis, progress dashboards and planning information for project-management review.
  • Maintaining accurate planning records and ensuring compliance with project procedures, client requirements and Worley standards.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in project planning, scheduling or project controls within the oil and gas, refining, petrochemical, energy or industrial sectors.
  • Experience supporting EPC, downstream, brownfield or site-execution projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project-planning, scheduling, progress-measurement and forecasting principles.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6.
  • Experience developing and maintaining detailed Level 3 project or engineering schedules.
  • Knowledge of earned value management and schedule-performance analysis.
  • Experience tracking engineering deliverables using Master Document Registers, Engineering Deliverables Status Registers or similar systems.
  • Experience monitoring procurement plans, vendor deliverables and material delivery schedules.
  • Experience reviewing contractor progress reports and verifying reported quantities.
  • A good understanding of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning processes.
  • The ability to identify schedule risks, constraints and potential delays.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and project-reporting skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder-coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • The ability and willingness to work full-time at the Home Office in Khobar .
  • Experience with EcoSys and Power BI would be advantageous.
  • Professional certification such as PMP, PMI-SP, AACE or an equivalent project-controls qualification would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience working in Saudi Arabia, the Middle East or on downstream projects would also be advantageous.
