Qualifications

• Diploma of optometry/ optics or equivalent.
• Valid Saudi MOH license as optometry/ optics technician.
• No prior clinical experience required—training provided.
• Strong interest in ophthalmology and eye care.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and clear communication.
• High attention to detail and ability to follow clinical protocols.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume surgical setting.
• Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn EHR/EMR software.
• Professional demeanor, reliability, and team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and obtain medical and ocular history.
• Perform preliminary tests: visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, visual field testing.
• Conduct tonometry and pupil dilation as directed.
• Operate ophthalmic equipment (autorefractors, lensometers, slit lamps, OCT).
• Perform ancillary diagnostic tests (OCT, corneal topography, fundus photography, visual field analysis) with proper documentation.
• Assist in refractive procedures, including pre- and post-operative assessments; support workflow.
• Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures.
• Schedule appointments and support patient flow.
• Sanitize, calibrate, and troubleshoot clinical equipment.
• Coordinate with ophthalmologists regarding refractive procedures.
