King Fahad Military Medical Complex in Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced Midwife Obstetrics & Gynecology to provide comprehensive, evidence-based care for women throughout pregnancy, labor, childbirth, and the postpartum period.   • Bachelors degree in Midwifery or equivalent
  • Nursing degree with Advanced Diploma in Midwifery accepted
  • Diploma in Midwifery (4-year program) required

Responsibilities

  • Provide antenatal, intrapartum, postpartum and newborn care per clinical guidelines.
  • Perform comprehensive maternal and fetal assessments.
  • Monitor maternal and fetal well-being during labor and use appropriate assessment tools.
  • Conduct normal vaginal deliveries independently within scope of practice.
  • Assist obstetricians during instrumental deliveries and cesarean sections when required.
  • Identify high-risk pregnancies and refer to obstetric team as needed.
  • Perform and interpret fetal heart rate monitoring.
  • Manage labor progress and provide neonatal stabilization.
  • Support breastfeeding and maternal-infant bonding.
  • Delineate and perform procedures such as episiotomy, perineal care, venipuncture, and catheterization.
  • Maintain infection prevention and patient safety standards.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Midwifery

Summary

The Midwife provides comprehensive, evidence‑based care to women throughout pregnancy, labor, childbirth, and the postpartum period. The role includes promoting maternal and newborn health, conducting normal deliveries, identifying complications, collaborating with obstetricians and other healthcare professionals, and providing education and support to women and their families.

Education / Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Midwifery
  • OR Bachelor degree in Nursing plus Advance Diploma Degree in Midwifery
  • OR Diploma degree in Midwifery (4 years course)
Experience Required
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Registered Midwife in the required unit/department.
License & Certifications
  • Current and in Good Standing Nursing License/Registration (RN) to practice in country of residence
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
  • Provide antenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care in accordance with established clinical guidelines.
  • Perform comprehensive maternal and fetal assessments.
  • Monitor maternal and fetal well‑being during labor using appropriate assessment tools.
  • Conduct normal vaginal deliveries independently within the scope of practice.
  • Assist obstetricians during instrumental deliveries and cesarean sections when required.
  • Identify high‑risk pregnancies and promptly refer or elevate care to the obstetric team.
  • Perform and interpret fetal heart rate monitoring.
  • Assess labor progress and manage normal labor.
  • Provide immediate care and stabilization of the newborn after delivery.
  • Initiate neonatal resuscitation when required within the scope of practice.
  • Support and promote breastfeeding and maternal‑infant bonding.
  • Administer medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed and within scope of practice.
  • Perform procedures such as:
    • Episiotomy and repair (where permitted by local regulations)
    • Perineal assessment and wound care
    • Venipuncture and specimen collection
    • Urinary catheterization
  • Monitor and manage obstetric emergencies until appropriate medical assistance is available.
  • Maintain infection prevention and patient safety standards.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Comply with hospital policies, clinical guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards.
