Job summary

IMI in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Work Preparator, Mechanical to lead work preparation for mechanical, machining and R&P tasks on shipyard projects. You will define scope, quantify requirements, assemble BOMs, and raise PRs to secure materials.

Maintain progress and ensure timely closure of related documents. Prepare drawings, obtain client signatures, liaise with engineering, and coordinate with production planning to ensure cost efficiency and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience performing mechanical work preparation within ship repair/rig repair environments.
• Deep knowledge of production processes in shipyard environments (ship/rig repairs).
• QC/QA and documentation management skills are required.
• Ability to assess resource requirements and BOMs; experience with requisitioning materials.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to IMI Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Policies.
• Evaluate repair specifications, itemize man-hours, prepare BOMs, and requisition materials.
• Prepare drawings/sketches and obtain client signatures; distribute as needed.
• Liaise with engineering and project controls; assist in bid support as required.
• Prepare material lists and ensure material availability; manage progress and closure of work.
• Produce detailed job sheets and final work descriptions for approval by seniors.
• Update vessel files for repairs and capture as-built data for commercial purposes.
• Prepare work completion reports and cost-related documentation.
