Job summary

Jenwa in Saudi Arabia seeks a seasoned Mechanical Maintenance Leader to plan, execute, and optimize maintenance for critical power plant systems. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, provide expert troubleshooting, and manage cross-functional projects to ensure reliability and safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance for large-scale plants (IPP/Siemens GT preferred).
  • Proven leadership of maintenance teams with strong communication skills.
  • Strong technical skills in mechanical maintenance, reliability engineering, and condition monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inspection, maintenance, and repair schedules for mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of mechanical maintenance engineers and technicians.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to maintenance staff.
  • Plan and oversee mechanical maintenance projects, coordinating with operations, electrical, and instrumentation teams.
  • Assist in annual maintenance budgeting and resource allocation; monitor costs for efficiency.
  • Ensure adequate spares, procurement processes, and timely procurement of parts.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and generate management reports.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance processes.

Job description

1. Maintenance Planning & Execution:
  • Develop and implement inspection, maintenance, and repair schedules for all mechanical systems and equipment, including gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, condenser, heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), pumps, compressors, HVAC and other ancillary systems.
  • Ensures necessary tooling
  • Ensures necessary Third-Party Certification
2. Team Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of mechanical maintenance engineers and technicians to ensure efficient maintenance operations and achieve targets & objectives.
  • Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement among team members.
3. Technical Support:
  • Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance staff for troubleshooting and problem resolution of mechanical issues.
  • Provide in housetraining to enhance the team skills technically & safety
  • Conduct root cause analysis of mechanical failures and implement corrective measures.
4. Project Management:
  • Plan and oversee mechanical maintenance projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with other departments (operations, electrical, and instrumentation) to schedule maintenance work with minimal disruption to plant operations.
5. Budget and Resource Management:
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager in the preparation of the annual maintenance budget and manage resource allocation effectively.
  • Monitor maintenance costs and identify opportunities for cost reductions without compromising safety or reliability.
6 . Procurement & Storage
  • Ensures adequate inventories of spares and consumables and ensure timely procurement for the efficient operation
  • To prepare purchase requisitions for spare parts and consumables
  • To perform technical evaluation of quotations received from purchase department and recommend appropriate choice.
7. Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and initiate safety improvement programs.
  • Ensure compliance of Corporate and site specific procedures and Work Instructions.
8. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory.
  • Prepare detailed reports on maintenance work, performance metrics, and project status for management review.

9. Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify and implement improvement initiatives in mechanical maintenance processes and workflows.
  • Stay abreast with industry trends, advancements in technology, and maintenance best practices.
10 Pre-PCOD role
  • a) support the Owner during the design review phase and during installation, commissioning, testing, and trial operation period.
  • b) O & M manuals and Initial Spare Parts list Review and finalization
  • c) Development of Master Equipment List
  • d) Development and implementation of CMMS
  • e) Spares and maintenance strategy identification based on Criticality study of equipment.
  • f) Prepare site specific maintenance procedures and Work Instructions
  • g) Ensure Maintenance team authorization as Permit Receivers
  • h) Ensure timely placement of subcontracts
  • i) ensure readiness for the operational period, by ensuring that all staff are trained and that all the systems and process required for O&M operations are ready.
  • j) ensure that the plant is fit for purpose to be taken-over and the plant is designed, built, commissioned and tested as per the EPC Contract and other Project Agreements.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, in large scale combined cycle power Plant. IPP and Siemens GT experience is preferred.

Leadership Skills: Proven experience leading maintenance teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in mechanical maintenance systems, reliability engineering, and condition monitoring techniques.

Software Knowledge: Familiarity with maintenance management software (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
