Qualifications

Job Summary

The Mechanical Hydraulic Technician will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and testing hydraulic systems, components, and equipment. The role involves hands‑on work with pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and hydraulic circuits to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient equipment operation in line with technical specifications and maintenance procedures.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance on hydraulic systems and components.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and reassemble hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, and valves.
• Replace or refurbish worn components including seals, hoses, filters, and fittings.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic failures and assist in identifying root causes.
• Use pressure gauges, flow meters, and diagnostic tools to evaluate hydraulic system conditions.
• Implement corrective actions to restore optimal system performance.
• Conduct pressure and functionality testing of repaired hydraulic equipment.
• Assist with configuring and calibrating hydraulic test benches when required.
• Verify repaired components meet required operational specifications before reinstallation.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and test results.
• Report abnormalities and recurring hydraulic issues to supervisors or engineers.
• Work in both workshop and field environments depending on equipment requirements.
• Follow work orders, safety procedures, and maintenance standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.

Mandatory Requirements

• Education: Technical Diploma or Industrial Training Certificate in Mechanical or Hydraulic Technology.
• Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience in hydraulic maintenance and repair.
• Experience with industrial or mobile hydraulic systems and components.
• Good understanding of hydraulic system operation and mechanical component functions.
• Ability to read basic hydraulic schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Skilled in using mechanical tools, measurement instruments, and hydraulic diagnostic equipment.
• Strong safety awareness, attention to detail, and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a maintenance team.
• Certification in Hydraulic Systems Maintenance or Fluid Power is preferred.
