Job summary

Exact Technical Solutions Company in Saudi Arabia seeks an experienced Mechanical Estimator to prepare analytical estimates from outline drawings and specifications, ensuring technical accuracy and acceptable risk levels. The role involves contributing to design development to assess buildability, materials, innovation and cost effectiveness.

You will provide high level pricing for tender optioneering, support procurement planning with suppliers and sub-contractors, prepare staff schedules,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Planning capability to prepare Tender Programs.
• Design and construction experience influencing design and buildability.
• Understanding of Conditions of Contract and Specifications.
• Understanding Partnering and Framework arrangements.
• Experience in risk management techniques.
• Knowledge of processes, equipment and services in Power, Water & Oil & Gas industries.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of analytical estimates for Mechanical Engineering works, technically accurate with acceptable risk.
• Participate in the design development to assess buildability, materials, innovation and cost effectiveness of proposals.
• Provide high level pricing information early in the Tender for optioneering and budgeting exercises to ensure cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure procedures, including risk and governance processes, are followed and correct authorizations are in place.
• Contribute to the preparation of Tender Preparation and Tender Construction programs.
• Prepare a staff schedule for the Tender, using feedback from successful contracts and collaborating with other functions.
• Participate in the preparation of a procurement plan with central/regional buyers to agree suppliers & sub-contractors, terms & conditions and discount levels.
• Prepare enquiries and obtain competitive quotations for mechanical engineering resources, particularly materials and sub-contractors.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of Technical developments and new methods within the Industry.
• Prepare financial models for framework submissions, including setting appropriate staff rates.
• Cost coding using the standardized system to allow feedback and cost capture.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.


• Planning capability sufficient to prepare Tender Programs


• Design and construction experience sufficient to influence the design and buildability of a project, choice of materials and be able to contribute to optioneering


• Understanding Conditions of Contract and Specifications


• Understanding of Partnering and Framework arrangements


• Experience in risk management techniques


• Knowledge of the processes, equipment and services that are used within the Power, Water & Oil & Gas industry
