Job summary

WSP in the Middle East seeks skilled Material Inspectors to join our Riyadh team for a prestigious road infrastructure project. You will oversee material testing, sampling, and QA/QC to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards on roads, bridges, highways, and tunnels.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 7 years in construction consultancy, a diploma or degree in Materials or Civil Engineering, and valid SCE registration. Strong analytical skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience in construction consultancy for road infrastructure projects.
  • SCE registration as Material Technician or Material Engineer.
  • Solid knowledge of testing methods and quality control procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Job Description

WSP is seeking highly skilled and experienced Material Inspectors to join our team in Riyadh for a prestigious road infrastructure project. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in construction consultancy with extensive experience in site supervision of road infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, highways, and tunnels.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections and testing of construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Oversee and monitor the quality of materials used in construction projects, including asphalt, concrete, aggregates, and other related materials.
  • Perform on-site material sampling, testing, and analysis as required.
  • Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and material submittals to ensure adherence to design and quality standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports on material quality, test results, and any non-compliance issues, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve material-related issues and ensure project timelines are met.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry best practices at all times.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction consultancy with a focus on road infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, highways, and tunnels.
  • Diploma or degree in Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration as a Material Technician, Material Engineer, or a related qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, testing methods, and quality control procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in using material testing equipment and software applications relevant to the role.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
