Job summary

Baraya Extended Care is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general facility systems in a healthcare setting. You will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair to ensure safe, reliable operation supporting patient care and operations.

Responsibilities include following safety protocols, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating with clinical and administrative teams to address service requests and maintain regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or equivalent in mechanical/electrical/HVAC or facility maintenance.
• Certifications related to specific trades are preferred.
• 3+ years of healthcare/industrial hospitality maintenance experience.

Job description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on facility equipment, systems, and infrastructure. The role ensures safe, reliable, and

efficient operation of all building systems to support patient care and organizational operations.

Job Scope:

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and general facility systems. Support routine inspections, respond to repair requests, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and scheduled maintenance activities to ensure equipment safety and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve system failures, breakdowns, or technical issues in a timely manner.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure all maintenance activities meet regulatory and quality standards.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and support internal and external audit processes.
• Use tools, testing devices, and equipment efficiently and safely.
• Collaborate with administrative and clinical departments to address service requests and maintenance issues.

Qualifications

• Technical Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, or Facility Maintenance, or equivalent qualification.
• Valid certifications related to specific trade specialty are preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a maintenance technician in healthcare, industrial, commercial, or hospitality environments.
• Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.

Required Skills

• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or mechanical systems.
• Ability to read technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.
• Preventive maintenance and safety procedures understanding.
• Familiar with tools, equipment, and measuring instruments.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Computer literacy is an advantage (CMMS systems).
• Proficiency in written, read and spoken Arabic and English languages.
