Job summary

raafa, a non-profit provider of Residential Aged Care in Western Australia, is seeking a Maintenance Officer to maintain facilities, grounds, plant and equipment across multiple sites. You will perform planned and preventative tasks, respond to requests, liaise with contractors, and support refurbishment projects to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for residents and staff.

Qualifications

  • Experience in building, maintenance, painting or similar roles.
  • Strong knowledge of repairs for facilities and equipment.
  • Experience handling tools and machinery.
  • Excellent customer service and communication.
  • Able to work independently and in a team.
  • Commitment to safety and WHS practices.
  • Experience in Residential Aged Care or similar settings preferred.
  • Basic IT skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Residential Aged Care buildings, grounds, plant and equipment to ensure safe, efficient operations.
  • Complete planned and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues requiring repair or replacement.
  • Assist with repairs and maintenance across common areas and resident rooms.
  • Liaise with contractors and service providers for specialist works.
  • Support facility improvement and refurbishment projects.
  • Maintain a safe environment for residents, visitors and staff.
  • Ensure all work complies with Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
  • Contribute to the presentation and appearance of the facility.

About The Role
  • Maintain Residential Aged Care buildings, grounds, plant and equipment to ensure they are operating safely and efficiently.

About You
  • Previous experience in building, maintenance, painting or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of general repairs and maintenance of facilities, equipment and infrastructure.
  • Experience operating and maintaining a variety of tools, machinery and equipment.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Experience within Residential Aged Care, Retirement Living, Hospitality or residential communities will be highly regarded.
  • Basic IT Skills
