Job summary

Apave International is seeking an experienced Lifting Equipment Inspector for a full-time, on-site role in Kuwait. The job involves inspecting cranes and lifting gear, performing tests, and producing detailed reports while ensuring compliance with ASME/ANSI/BSI/API standards and client requirements.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in Oil & Gas crane inspection, knowledge of relevant standards, and NDT certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of Oil & Gas experience inspecting cranes and lifting equipment.
• Strong knowledge of ASME, ANSI, BSI and API standards.
• SASO HRC certification is an advantage.
• Offshore crane inspection experience per BS 7121, API Spec 2C and API RP 2D preferred.
• NDT Level II MPI/UT preferred.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Lifting Equipment Inspector to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in Kuwait.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and examine cranes and lifting equipment


• Perform measurements, testing, and condition assessments


• Identify defects, damage, wear, deterioration, and non-conformities


• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and client requirements


• Prepare accurate and comprehensive inspection reports


• Provide technical support and guidance on lifting equipment safety


• Conduct relevant training courses where qualified

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.


• 5–7 years of relevant Oil & Gas experience in inspecting cranes and lifting equipment.


• Strong knowledge of ASME, ANSI, BSI, and API standards.


• Certification from the SASO Heavy Equipment Regulatory Center (HRC) is an advantage.


• Offshore crane inspection experience/approval in accordance with BS 7121, API Spec 2C, and API RP 2D is preferred.


• NDT Level II certification in MPI and UT is preferred.


• Experience with Aramco, SABIC, or other major clients in Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries is an advantage.


• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17020 accreditation requirements is preferred.


• Trainer/Instructor certification is an advantage, particularly in Operator, Rigger, Scaffolding, and HSE/Safety training.
