Job summary

BEC Arabia seeks a qualified Lifting Engineer to join its Riyadh-based Health & Safety team. You will plan, supervise, and ensure safe lifting operations across our commercial, infrastructure, and government projects, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030.

Collaborating with project managers, site supervisors, and safety officers, you will develop lifting plans, certify equipment, train personnel, and conduct audits to uphold safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of lifting operations experience in construction or heavy engineering industries.
• Certified Lifting Engineer qualification or equivalent.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and lifting simulation software.
• Strong knowledge of SBC, OSHA standards, and ISO 45001.
• Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
• Experience developing and implementing lifting plans and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive lifting plans and risk assessments for all lifting operations in compliance with SBC and OSHA standards.
• Ensure lifting equipment is certified, maintained, and inspected regularly in accordance with ISO 45001 and manufacturer guidelines.
• Coordinate with project teams to schedule lifting activities, minimizing disruptions to overall project timelines.
• Monitor on-site lifting operations to ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Train site personnel and operators on safe lifting practices and the proper use of lifting equipment.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of lifting equipment and operations to identify and mitigate potential risks.
• Prepare detailed reports on lifting operations, incidents, and compliance with safety standards.
• Liaise with third-party inspectors and certification bodies to ensure all lifting equipment meets regulatory standards.
• Advise project managers on the selection of appropriate lifting equipment for specific tasks.
• Investigate any lifting-related incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Stay updated on advancements in lifting technologies and incorporate best practices into operations.
