Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Librarian Assistant to join our team at our library in the beautiful city of Mecca As the Librarian Assistant you will assist the librarian in managing and organizing library materials providing reference assistance to patrons and maintaining a welcoming and productive atmosphere for all library visitors

Responsibilities

• Assist the librarian with cataloging and shelving library materials
• Provide reference assistance to patrons including helping them locate materials and answering basic research questions
• Process new library cards and maintain accurate records of patron checkouts
• Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the library space
• Assist with planning and implementing library programs and events
• Help enforce library rules and regulations to ensure a safe environment for all visitors
• Stay up-to-date on current library trends technologies and resources to provide excellent service to patrons

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Library Science or related field preferred
• Previous experience working in a library setting is preferred
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
• Familiarity with various computer software programs used in libraries
• Fluent in English additional languages are a plus
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

This is a part-time position with a salary of $1300 per month
