Job summary

Hill International in Saudi Arabia seeks an experienced Tunnel Engineer to support bored tunnels and underground cavern projects. You will ensure designs are followed, coordinate with contractors, and guide daily engineering tasks across multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires a strong background in TBM tunneling, NATM/SEM or drill & blast cavern methods, and adherence to EN/BS standards and ITA guidelines. Excellent communication and independent work ethic are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mining Engineering.
• 10+ years tunnelling/underground construction experience.
• Experience with TBM tunneling techniques (EPB/slurry/hard rock).
• Site-based experience on large infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of EN/BS standards and ITA guidelines.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and engineering assurance for bored tunnels and underground caverns.
• Ensure construction aligns with approved designs, methodologies, and client standards.
• Maintain coordination with contractors and internal teams.
• Assist in implementing tunneling and cavern construction methodologies.
• Review construction drawings and specifications for accuracy.
• Conduct QA/QC inspections to maintain quality standards.
• Collaborate with Senior Tunnel Construction Engineer on daily tasks.
• Stay updated with industry standards and ITA guidelines.
• Offer technical guidance to project team and contractors.
• Contribute to project-specific procedures and protocols.
