Atkins Realis Group seeks a highly experienced Lead Field Engineer - Mechanical to supervise installation, testing, commissioning and handover of mechanical systems for a major Riyadh project. You will lead a team of field engineers and inspectors, ensure compliance with designs, codes, and safety standards, and coordinate with stakeholders for on-schedule delivery.

Qualifications

  • Degree(s) in mechanical engineering with advanced project credentials preferred.
  • Professional registration or certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum extensive experience in mechanical site supervision for large buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise mechanical site activities and personnel through design and construction phases.
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, method statements and testing docs for compliance.
  • Coordinate interfaces with architectural, structural, electrical and building systems.
  • Oversee FAT/SAT and commissioning, ensure handover readiness and QA/QC adherence.
  • Manage progress reporting, RFIs, risks, and technical claims with stakeholders.

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Field Engineer - Mechanical to lead and oversee all mechanical engineering supervision activities for a major site supervision consultancy project in Riyadh Saudi Arabia The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the installation testing commissioning and handover of mechanical systems while ensuring compliance with approved designs project specifications quality standards safety requirements and contractual obligations The Lead Field Engineer - Mechanical will provide technical leadership to a team of mechanical engineers and inspectors coordinate with project stakeholders and ensure successful delivery of complex mechanical building services systems across convention centers hotels resorts mixed-use developments and large-scale commercial facilities Your roleLead and manage all mechanical site supervision activities throughout the construction lifecycle Supervise and coordinate a team of mechanical field engineers inspectors and specialist consultants Ensure all mechanical works are executed in accordance with approved drawings specifications project requirements and applicable codes and standards Review and recommend approval of contractor shop drawings material submittals method statements and technical submissions Monitor installation of HVAC systems chilled water networks district cooling interfaces ventilation systems plumbing and drainage systems firefighting systems LPG systems fuel systems and specialist mechanical equipment Review contractor work schedules and monitor progress against approved project milestones Coordinate mechanical interfaces with architectural structural electrical ICT fire and life safety and specialist systems Conduct site inspections and audits to verify workmanship quality and compliance with project requirements Monitor contractor performance productivity and resource allocation to ensure efficient project execution Lead the review and resolution of Requests for Information RFIs technical queries and construction-related issues Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance and Quality Control QA QC procedures and inspection requirements Witness factory acceptance tests FAT site acceptance tests SAT pressure testing flushing balancing and commissioning activities Monitor Testing Adjusting and Balancing TAB activities for HVAC systems Verify compliance with international standards local regulations and manufacturer recommendations Coordinate with project controls and commercial teams regarding progress reporting variation assessments and technical claims evaluation Identify construction challenges technical risks and interface issues and develop mitigation measures Ensure Health Safety and Environmental HSE requirements are effectively implemented across all mechanical activities Participate in progress meetings technical workshops coordination meetings and client presentations Manage snagging de-snagging integrated system testing operational readiness and handover activities Support training and knowledge transfer activities for operations and maintenance teams Prepare technical reports progress summaries inspection records and management presentations Mentor and develop junior mechanical engineers and inspectors to maintain high engineering and supervision standards.

About you

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Construction Management or Project Management is preferred Professional Engineer PE Chartered Engineer PMP or equivalent professional certification is highly desirable Minimum 12 years of overall professional experience in mechanical engineering construction and site supervision Minimum 7 years of experience in a lead mechanical supervision role on major building developments Proven experience in large-scale buildings convention centers hotels resorts mixed-use developments commercial complexes airports or hospitality projects Extensive experience within Site Supervision Consultancy PMC or Engineering Consultancy environments Strong expertise in HVAC systems chilled water systems district cooling systems ventilation plumbing drainage firefighting fuel systems and mechanical infrastructure Experience reviewing mechanical shop drawings material submittents method statements and testing documentation Strong knowledge of international standards including ASHRAE NFPA SMACNA IPC BS and relevant Saudi regulations Demonstrated experience in testing commissioning TAB activities and integrated building systems handover Familiarity with Building Management Systems BMS District Cooling Systems Energy Management Systems and smart building technologies Strong understanding of QA QC procedures inspection methodologies and construction best practices Experience coordinating with authorities operators facility management teams and utility providers Previous experience working on projects in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region is highly preferred Excellent leadership communication technical reporting and stakeholder management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office engineering software and project management systems Fluency in English is required Arabic language skills are advantageous.
