Key Responsibilities
- Monitor electrical works to confirm compliance with contract documents, approved procedures, project specifications, and construction administration requirements.
- Review, approve, and process ELV, IT, and electrical technical submittals submitted by contractors and specialist vendors.
- Prepare preliminary responses to RFIs related to electrical works, technical coordination, site conditions, installation requirements, and project documentation.
- Coordinate and supervise pre‑installation electrical activities to ensure readiness, sequencing, access, material availability, and technical compliance.
- Review contractor change order proposals related to electrical works and prepare clear recommendations for senior engineering review.
- Liaise with sub‑consultants, contractors, site teams, project managers, and discipline leads to resolve technical issues and maintain construction progress.
- Assist in reviewing contractor claims connected to electrical works and support the preparation of technical recommendations.
- Review contractor project record documents, as‑built information, electrical drawings, technical files, and discipline‑specific closeout records.
- Support inspections of completed electrical works and verify that installations meet approved drawings, specifications, authority expectations, and quality standards.
- Monitor start‑up, testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical, ELV, IT, and related building systems.
- Prepare sign‑off packages for completed electrical works, ensuring all required documents, approvals, inspection records, testing reports, and closeout files are complete.
- Coordinate with construction, QA/QC, testing, commissioning, and document control teams to maintain accurate records and approval traceability.
- Identify site issues, non‑conforming works, missing documentation, or coordination gaps and follow up with responsible parties for timely closure.
- Support the project manager and senior electrical engineer with technical reviews, site coordination, reporting, and engineering decisions.
- Maintain discipline‑level awareness from early construction activity through final handover to ensure continuity, compliance, and project delivery quality.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, ELV Engineer, or similar electrical construction engineering role.
- At least 3 to 5 years of construction administration experience in the Middle East.
- Strong technical background in electrical works, ELV systems, IT infrastructure interfaces, site supervision, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Practical experience reviewing technical submittals, RFIs, change orders, contractor claims, as‑built drawings, and project record documents.
- Good understanding of construction contracts, project specifications, authority requirements, inspection processes, and discipline handover requirements.
- Ability to review drawings, documents, installation details, and technical submissions with accuracy and proper engineering judgment.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD for drawing review, coordination checks, and technical markups.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office tools including Excel and Word for reporting, tracking, documentation, and technical correspondence.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate clearly with contractors, consultants, site teams, and project stakeholders.
- Excellent understanding of electrical specifications, construction procedures, site quality expectations, and start‑up requirements.
- Complete project understanding within the electrical discipline, from initial works and site coordination through testing, commissioning, and final handover.
- Able to work in a fast‑moving project environment while maintaining accuracy, documentation discipline, and practical problem‑solving focus.
