Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer responsible for overseeing design review, construction supervision, inspection, and QA of bridge works on major Riyadh roads projects. You will ensure compliance with codes, standards, and schedules while mentoring teams and coordinating with stakeholders.

The role requires extensive bridge engineering experience, leadership in QA/QC, and proficiency with MIDAS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, and CSI Bridge. GCC/Saudi project exposure is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with specialization in Structural or Bridge Engineering.
• Master's Degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent certification is an advantage.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in bridge and structural engineering.
• At least 8 years of experience on major Roads & Highways infrastructure projects.
• Previous experience in construction supervision consultancy roles.
• Proven experience with bridges, flyovers, grade-separated interchanges, viaducts, underpasses, and retaining structures.
• GCC and Saudi Arabia project experience is highly preferred.
• Experience on large-scale infrastructure projects valued above SAR 500 million is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of bridge engineering principles and structural analysis.
• Experience with reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, and steel bridge structures.
• Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD, Eurocodes, BS Standards, and Saudi regulations.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as MIDAS Civil, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, CSI Bridge, or similar.
• Knowledge of bridge inspection, maintenance, and rehabilitation techniques.
• Understanding of FIDIC contractual procedures.

Responsibilities

• Design Review & Technical Oversight: Review and comment on bridge designs, shop drawings, and construction documents submitted by contractors.
• Construction Supervision: Supervise construction activities related to bridges, flyovers, interchanges, underpasses, retaining walls, culverts, and associated structures.
• Inspection & Quality Assurance: Conduct regular site inspections and structural assessments; witness testing and review ITPs and quality records.
• Project Coordination: Coordinate with Resident Engineers, Highway Engineers, Contractors, Utility Teams, and Client representatives.
• Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance: Promote and enforce project HSE requirements and safety procedures.
• Progress Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor progress, prepare weekly/monthly technical reports, highlight delays and risks.
• Contract Administration Support: Review technical aspects of variations, claims, RFIs, and payments.
