Job description

KSA Trainee Technician Programme (Power) - 12 month fixed term contract

Do you want to join a global company and get experience across Saudi Arabia and the Middle East to kick start your career as a technician? Then our Trainee Technician Programme is what you're looking for... We’re Aggreko. We're the global leader in providing energy solutions that help businesses grow and communities thrive. We work as a team and we’re proud of the difference we make to customers, to local communities, and towards a sustainable future for the world.

Aggreko in Saudi Arabia

Across Saudi Arabia, we electrify events from the Formula 1 in Jeddah to the Sound Storm Festival in Riyadh. We also support our customers across the Kingdom with a variety of complex projects including providing power and cooling for the Red Sea development project and supplying cooling and backup power for customers’ refineries.

Our Trainee Technician Programme

As a Technician Trainee, you'll become familiar with the mechanical and electrical systems found in generators and other power equipment. You'll join a comprehensive 12-month training program, based in our Riyadh depot, that will build your foundational technical knowledge. You'll gain hands-on experience in recognizing key equipment and components, understand maintenance and repair procedures, and master essential housekeeping and health and safety practices. Your primary focus will be on power generators and related equipment, mainly at the Aggreko depot, with opportunities to visit customer sites across Saudi Arabia. By the end of the program, you will have gained the essential knowledge and hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical tasks. This will give you the confidence and groundwork to start your career, on your path to becoming a technician in our Saudi Arabian business.

Why join us on our Trainee Programme?

Our programme is designed to give you an essential insight into our business and provide invaluable hands-on experience – no university degree needed. We're committed to building expertise from the ground up, so you'll start with comprehensive foundational training and progressively develop your skills across a wide variety of environments, gaining practical knowledge every step of the way. Although we're sixty years old, it doesn't feel like it when you work here. You can expect the professionalism and high standards of a larger company – yet you won’t be pigeon-holed into a narrow role. The sense of teamwork is unique – ‘together’ is one of our core values – and we make sure people feel welcome and included, so they can be themselves at work.

You’ll have the following skills and experience:
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) with a strong aptitude for technical subjects (e.g., math, science, physics).
  • OR College Diploma/Vocational Certificate in mechanical or electrical engineering or related technical field.
  • Passionate about mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Highly motivated with a positive attitude to work.
  • Business-level English.

To comply with national labour laws and applicable legislation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this programme is designed specifically for Saudi nationals. If you are not a Saudi national then consider applying for one of our other graduate programmes in the Middle East.

Equal employment opportunity

We welcome people from different backgrounds and cultures, and respect people’s unique skills, attitudes and experiences. We encourage everyone to be themselves at work because we know that’s how we do our best, for each other, for our customers, for the communities where we work, and for our careers. We are an equal opportunity employer. If you apply for a role at Aggreko, we will consider your application based on your qualifications and experience, and not on your race, colour, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.

At Aggreko, we provide energy solutions so communities can thrive and businesses can grow. We bring power, heat and cooling to customers and communities wherever they need it. No two days are the same. We work in dynamic environments and offer a wide range of opportunities for motivated people to enrich their lives and communities. If you are prepared to give us your best, you can learn and grow quickly. We are building a culture and an environment where everyone can be at their best. We encourage everyone to be themselves at work because we know that’s how we achieve our potential.
