Job summary

TAWANTECH is seeking a backend developer to design, build and maintain reliable Java/Spring Boot services in a microservices architecture in Riyadh. You will implement REST APIs, integrate with databases and external systems, and contribute to secure coding and CI/CD pipelines.

The role focuses on learning, collaboration in squads, and delivering high-quality software for business capabilities. Qualifications include a Bachelor's in CS or related field and at least 2 years of backend experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 2 years of backend development experience.
• Working knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL, and Git.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and debugging fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs in Java and Spring Boot within a microservices architecture.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into working, tested software.
• Integrate services with databases, internal platforms, and external partner systems.
• Work with event streaming and messaging (Kafka, MQ) under guidance.
• Write clean, maintainable, testable code in line with engineering standards.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, and defect resolution.
• Apply secure coding practices, including authentication, authorization, and data protection requirements.
• Support deployment and monitoring on containerized platforms (OpenShift/Kubernetes) through established CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and squad ceremonies.
• Support production troubleshooting under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Maintain relevant technical documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices and application quality.
