Job summary

Confidential seeks an HVAC Technician to install, maintain, inspect, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems to keep facilities comfortable, safe, and energy-efficient.

You will work with equipment such as split units, chillers, AHUs, VRF systems, and BMS controls; perform preventive maintenance; diagnose faults; handle refrigerants safely; follow HSE rules; and contribute to energy savings by advising on improvements.

Qualifications

• Diploma or technical certificate in HVAC or Refrigeration.
• 5 years of hands-on HVAC experience preferred for commercial/industrial settings.
• Refrigerant handling certification is a plus; driving license is a plus.
• Safety training (OSHA or equivalent) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job description

The HVAC Technician installs, maintains, inspects, and repairs heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems to keep buildings comfortable, safe, and energy-efficient. The role reports to the HVAC Supervisor or Facilities/Maintenance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and test HVAC equipment such as split units, packaged units, chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VRF systems, and ventilation fans
• Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule, including filter changes, coil cleaning, belt and bearing checks, and lubrication
• Diagnose and repair faults in compressors, motors, thermostats, valves, dampers, and electrical controls
• Check and recharge refrigerant, detect leaks, and handle refrigerants safely and in line with environmental rules
• Inspect and maintain ductwork, piping, insulation, and condensate drainage
• Read and adjust control systems, including thermostats, BMS/DDC controllers, and basic automation settings
• Measure and balance airflow, temperature, humidity, and pressure to meet design specifications
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and service requests, including emergency call-outs
• Keep maintenance logs, job cards, and equipment history up to date
• Follow HSE procedures, permit-to-work, lockout/tagout, and working-at-height and confined-space rules
• Maintain tools, spare parts inventory, and a clean, safe work area
• Advise the supervisor on equipment replacement, energy savings, and recurring faults

Qualifications

• Diploma or technical certificate in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical, or Electrical Technology (or equivalent)
• 5 years of hands-on HVAC experience, commercial or industrial preferred
• Refrigerant handling certification and a valid driving license are a plus
• Safety training (OSHA or equivalent) is a plus

Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, airflow, and electrical fundamentals
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals
• Skilled with gauges, multimeters, vacuum pumps, leak detectors, and brazing tools
• Familiarity with chillers, VRF, and BMS systems
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Clear communication in English (Arabic is a plus)
• Physical fitness for lifting, climbing, and working in hot or confined spaces
